Salisbury, Massachusetts (WCVB) – A Massachusetts woman has been charged with killing her boyfriend by giving him antifreeze.
Judy Church, a 64-year-old former teacher, appeared in court on Friday.
Prosecutors say Leroy Fowler had a seizure on his 55th birthday, November 11.
An autopsy revealed lethal levels of ethylene glycol, a compound commonly found in antifreeze and windshield deicers, in the body.
Prosecutors claimed Church mixed it with a sports drink.
According to the police report, the victim’s family told investigators that Fowler had another girlfriend whom Church was jealous of and suspected she was poisoning him.
Police say Church appeared to be recording the crime on his cell phone.
At that location, investigators found 13 videos of victims in medical distress rampaging in Church’s room.
Police also found screenshots of recent purchases from AutoZone and photos from Church’s cell phone of deicer bottles among items found near her kitchen and Fowler’s bed.
Church was charged with murder. She remains in custody pending a probable cause hearing scheduled for Jan. 23.
