Where to eat and drink on New Year’s Eve in Rhode Island

This New Year’s Eve could be the return of the lavish Gilded Age parties in earnest in Newport, or the first time Providence’s clubs and bars will be buzzing with live music since Rhode Island thundered in 2020.

Still, there are a few places to eat on New Year’s Eve night, even if you’re planning on raising your glass at midnight until 2023.

Luxurious Chef’s Tasting Menu and Social Party in Newport

  • and right, owner and chef Kevin O’Donnell offers an annual “freestyle” tasting menu for $80 per person. We offer frico, whipped cream, and wagyu beef carpaccio. Main plates include duck agnolotti with foie gras, octopus and ribeye. The meal concludes with pandi he spagna, a light and airy Italian sponge his cake.   • The third year The Chanler at Cliff Walk closes its gates for New Year’s Eve celebrations. What is this year’s theme? “La Dolce Vita” weekend of vintage European elegance. Guests of the mansion can access psychic readings, hone their culinary skills at the Chanler Cooking Workshop, or make mozzarella cheese at an Italian cheese maker. ) serves guests a multi-course meal at community tables, accompanied by Italian-inspired libations and music by the Cresswell Club Quartet. For his third course in Taur, you can choose between charcoal-grilled lobster with ginger and chard, or accherello risotto with black truffles and foraged mushrooms. Main course? Small bar, speakeasy and cozy lounge with cocktails

  • Stoneacre Brasserie in Newport opens late on New Year’s Eve with a special champagne toast. For $50, guests can enjoy a dessert and a bottle of cava.
  • Walk through the velvet curtains to the back of the Dean Hotel in downtown Providence. The Dean BarAn intimate, dimly lit cocktail lounge complete with classic menu books and greenery. The best part is that there are plenty of corners and seating nooks for people to watch.
  • Kurumi’s Room is a narrow bar serving reasonably priced bottles of wine and snacks along South Main Street in Providence. No cover or reservation is usually required.

Live tunes and big parties with booze and food

  • historic park theater in Cranston hosts a vintage Hollywood-style New Year’s Eve ball that encourages guests to wear costumes and outfits dating back to the 1920s and 1940s.
