What About the Root Beer? Culver’s Announces Big Drink Menu Change – NBC Chicago

Popular Midwestern burger chain Culver’s caused a stir on social media when it announced a drastic change to its drinks menu over the weekend.

The Wisconsin-based company has revealed it is switching from Pepsi to Coca-Cola products, which was a huge disappointment for many of its fans.

The Butterburger home now says on its website that it “proudly offers Coca-Cola and Dr. Pepper products.”

And while the Pepsi vs. Coca-Cola debate is a heated one, some fans were quick to realize there was one famous drink that was neither side in that battle: Culver’s famous drink. It’s root beer.

“As Wisconsins, it’s not about Pepsi or Coke. We all worry about root beer. You won’t change it,” wrote one Twitter user.

“As long as they keep Culver’s root beer, I don’t care…,” another tweeted.

“Dear 8 lbs 6 oz newborn baby Jesus please keep the root beer @Culvers‘ commented one fan.

The good news for fans is that root beer doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.

In response to numerous comments on social media, Culvers wrote: will be available. “

Regarding the switch from Pepsi to Coke, Culver’s told USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin that the transition is “ongoing,” but the company’s “nearly 900 restaurants in 26 states will take time to make the switch. It takes,” he added.

So it looks like Coke fans will be delighted soon, Pepsi fans will be stewed, and Culver’s root beer fans will stay put.
