A delegation from the Welsh Food Center, led by the Welsh Government’s Food and Drinks Department, will travel to Singapore to attend the 2022 Growth Asia Summit, with the aim of promoting Wales as an investment destination. and met with the beverage business.

Welsh Government Minister for Rural Affairs and North Wales and Mr Trekhnith said Leslie Griffiths:

“Showing our food and beverage capabilities on the global stage is essential to attracting inward investment.

“Building connections and developing relationships in the Asian market is crucial to the growth of the Welsh food and beverage industry.

“We have set an ambitious goal of driving the value of the industry to over £7 billion between 2014 and 2020.

“Together we met and exceeded that goal, and now we are building on that success.

“Our ambition is for Welsh food and beverage manufacturing sector turnover to be at least £8.5 billion by 2025, proportionately higher each year than the rest of the UK.

“The Growth Asia Summit has been a great platform to outline our goals to develop one of the most sustainable supply chains in the world while at the same time being able to engage the multinational food business.

“We want to create a strong and vibrant Welsh food and beverage sector with a global reputation for excellence and one of the most environmentally and socially responsible supply chains in the world. I have.”

At the Growth Asia Summit 2022 in Singapore, attendees celebrated the Welsh Future Generations Happiness (Wales) Act, the Healthy Weight Healthy Wales Campaign, and collaboration between universities, businesses and governments to shape the food industry of the future.
