Utah beers to send off 2022 | Drink

Start that New Year’s resolution diet or join us for a dry January? If so, you might as well round out 2022 with these two flavor powerhouses.

Thank you – winter IPA: When I apply the gold yellow color with two fingers, the bright white heads recede into a thin layer pretty quickly and it lasts. Clarity has a slight haze and moderate carbonation bubbles from the glass. Decent laces exist. The nose is hoppy, citrusy with plenty of aromas of grapefruit, orange and tangerine, with lots of lemon in it. Sweet fruits such as peach and mango are mixed with fresh floral notes. A little malty breadiness emerges at the end, with big, moist hops. Very fresh.

Taste is much more complex than looks and smells. It’s also much higher quality. At first, you’re bombarded with sweet citrus notes dominated by lemon perfectly served with a touch of sweet biscuit malt. Then there’s the wonderful mango flavor that lingers as it fades into grapefruit and grapes, with a final touch of astringency begging for another drink. Other than the astringent aftertaste mentioned above, there is not much hop-derived bitterness, just fantastic and complex hop goodness.

The mouthfeel is slightly creamy with a medium finish. The carbonation is great and makes an already very refreshing beer even better. The astringency is perfect to keep the drinker wanting more, and the aftertaste feel is alluring. Just ask them to remember it after every sip.

verdict: This is obviously about hops. It’s easy to find out if Deschutes are available in your area and the prices aren’t too expensive. The end result is a great celebration of wet hop season. is recommended.

Park City – Mango Milkshake IPA: Thick and sticky like melted mango creamsicle with minimal head formation. A straight haze doesn’t let even the tiniest bit of light through. Massive amounts of vanilla and mango burst out of the glass immediately, like poked your nose into a tub of mango and vanilla bean ice cream. Hints of citrus (orange, grapefruit, tangerine) and sweet, bready malt come out more as it warms, but are clearly overshadowed by the additional non-hop aromas. are as exciting as they come.

Oops, sweet mango coats the front of your mouth. The rich vanilla bean continues well with some hop contributions. The finish is really interesting, as the very sweet, candy-like flavors are utterly eclipsed by a surprisingly enjoyable combination of creamy lactose (due to lactose), dank bitterness, spicy green mango, and grassy berries. It’s very unconventional, but it works well. As the name suggests, it’s thick, chewy, and super creamy. The addition of oats and lactose gives it a melted milkshake-like texture. Carbonation is weak, bitterness is moderate, but it is very easy to drink. Hard to believe this is 5.0% ABV. Feels like at least 6.5 percent.

verdict: got it. This may not be for everyone, but it epitomizes the term “juice bomb” that gets thrown around a lot these days. This is he one of the most unique beers I have ever tried. They really pull off the combination of lactose, vanilla, mango and intense dry hopping.
