Mumbai: A 29-year-old man was forced to drink toilet cleaner by four tenants at his residence in Sivajinagar on Tuesday night over a security deposit issue.
A case of attempted murder has been registered against the four arrested defendants. According to police, the incident occurred around 7:30 pm when four people broke into his house and began attacking and abusing him. The defendant lived in the victim’s house paying rent and demanded the return of the security deposit. The victim failed to return the money in time, so the accused began to abuse him daily.
Victim admitted to Zion Hospital
On Tuesday, the brawl escalated and the victim was pushed against the wall of the house. One of them poured a liquid chemical, like toilet cleaner, into his mouth, police added. Immediately, the victim began experiencing burning sensations in the stomach and was taken to Sion Hospital.
“The victim suffered severe burns to his stomach and intestines. He is being treated in hospital,” said Senior Police Inspector Arjun Rajaneh of Shivajinagar Police Station. senior cop.
Cases under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) including 307 (attempted murder), 328 (injury by poison) and 447 (punishment for trespassing) have been registered against the accused.
