Residents of The Waterford and The Wexford savor the best bites of the season

A few residents of Tsawwassen’s The Waterford and The Wexford share two favorite drink recipes for all Optimist readers to enjoy this holiday season.

Les Edgeworth of The Wexford says he loves Harvey Wallbanger and “never met anyone who didn’t like it”.

4 ounces orange juice

2 ounces vodka

1 ounce Cointreau

Pour vodka, contro, and orange juice into an ice-filled Collins glass and serve.

Frances McDonald of The Waterford in Tsawwassen shares her favorite eggnog recipe.

1 egg,

1/2 cup half and half

1/2 cup warm milk

dash of vanilla

sprinkle with nutmeg

1 shot of lamb (optional)

Put the milk and cream in a saucepan and heat over medium heat. Remove when the milk boils. Take a little of the warm mixture and slowly add it to the eggs so they don’t get cooked. Reduce heat to low and stir constantly until eggnog appears thick and coats back of spoon, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour into mugs and add a shot of rum if desired.
