The father of a class 5 girl who was assaulted by a MCD school teacher is still struggling to come to terms with the incident, saying his daughter cannot eat or speak because of a broken cheekbone. rice field.
The child is still in Safdarjun Hospital.
The girl also suffered injuries to her leg and side of her head, according to her father.
“She can’t eat or drink anything. Doctors told us she would be discharged today. But they told us she would be under observation for two more days.” said the father.
He said, “How can you do this to a child?” and demanded a harsher punishment for the teacher.
Recalling the events of that day, the father, a daily wager, said he received a phone call from school to inform him of his daughter’s injury.
“I was at work when I received information from the school about the assault. We rushed to the school and was told she had been admitted to Hindu Rao Hospital. he said.
The father said the minor cried when he saw him and his wife unconscious.
“When I saw her, she couldn’t speak but started crying, while my wife lost consciousness,” he said.
“We want to dismiss that teacher and severely punish her. She can harm any child. You can do the same with your students,” he added.
Police said the teacher was trapped in a classroom with students and threw a water bottle “violently” before picking up the girl, cutting her hair and throwing her off the balcony.
Doctors said the girl, who was about 11 years old, had fractured a bone in her face.
The incident occurred around 11:00 am in Delhi Nagar Nigam Barika Vidyalaya. Students rushed out of the classroom to find papers, books, and bags scattered around the room. Police said the teacher threatened to harm them as well.
Police said a teacher identified as Geeta Rani Deshwal, 26, had been arrested, but added that the motive behind the incident was not yet clear.
