Blackstone Herbs and Martini Bar opens in Worcester offering food, drink flights, karaoke

This newest addition to Worcester’s canal district takes its slogan ‘Catch the flight, not the feeling’ very seriously.

Blackstone Herbs and Martini Bar, which is holding a soft opening this week, specializes in unique food and drink flights, giving customers the chance to try multiple options on every visit.

“We’re thrilled. This area seems like a good fit for us,” said Briana Ranucci, who owns the restaurant with her husband Jean. “There are a lot of up-and-coming restaurants, so I slide right into that crowd,” she says.

The Ranuccis already have a restaurant of the same name and concept in Coventry, Rhode Island, but Jan told MassLive in October that the two live in Massachusetts, so it makes sense to come to Worcester. He said it fits.

The restaurant is located at 102 Green St., the former home of the Hangover Pub and Broth, which closed abruptly in September.

Blackstone Worcester is open from early morning until 7am and offers a variety of coffee and tea drinks, breakfast sandwiches, and pastries made daily by our in-house bakers. All day, the restaurant offers a full sandwich menu and food flights (options include egg rolls, tacos, nachos, wings, sliders, French fries, vegan dishes, cheesecake dessert flights, and creme brulee), and at the end of the night To the atmosphere of bars and nightclubs. They continue to serve food past midnight.

“Worcester doesn’t have a lot of late-night dining, so it will stand out,” said Bryanna.

The restaurant has three rooms to suit the different ambiences customers seek throughout the day. The first area where the coffee bar is located is a bright area with comfortable cafe tables. The second is dimly lit with string lights and has cozy booths. The final bar room is spacious with a pool table and stage, and the restaurant hosts events and karaoke.

“Every night there’s something going on. We like to have a good time,” Gian said.

The Ranuccis, who also own a cannabis farm in Dudley, originally planned to offer a CBD-enriched menu like their other locations. Backlash from the city led to the cancellation of that plan, but it hopes to do so in the future after being open for some time and proving itself to be a good member of the community.

“We were disappointed because Worcester was so cannabis friendly,” Jean said.
