Matapan – The Boston Police Department was searching 1601 Blue Hill Avenue on New Year’s Day after the father of two children was shot dead. It happened after a New Year’s Eve gathering. Now the family is mourning for her 2023.
Pastor Kevin Peterson said, “This person was part of my extended family and I am very upset.
Peterson, founder of the New Democracy Coalition, said the victim was 33-year-old Jymall Cox. Cox is his son’s cousin.
“I had the opportunity to speak with the victim’s mother about an hour ago and she couldn’t believe her son was dead,” said Pastor Peterson.
Police responded to the area of Blue Hill Avenue at approximately 5:56 am on January 1, 2023. There, they found Cox, who was confirmed dead at the scene.

“He has to leave his young daughter and child behind and remember that his father was murdered,” Peterson said.
A second man was also shot and his injuries are non-life-threatening.
The pastor told WBZ that a controversy seems to have started over the spilled drink. .
Matapan resident Sheila Bryant agrees. Bryant said, “This has gotten very bad. It used to be a nice, clean area.
She says violence is out of control. “She felt unsafe today,” Bryant continued.
No arrests have been made in this case. Pastor Peterson says he hopes the family will be brought to justice, with witnesses and surveillance cameras in the area. .
The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
