AOC Hits Up DC Rum Distillery After Democrats Accused of Drinking Through House Drama

Kevin McCarthy has been shot and lost by the Speaker of the House, but Democrats have been accused of a different kind of shooting. They want us to fight each other. The popcorn and blankets and alcohol out there revealed a lot of it,” Rep. Kat Kamak said yesterday on the House floor.

The comments led to jeering from her Democratic colleagues. “The House is in turmoil,” cried Camac. Punchbowl’s Jake Sherman reported that Democrats “deleted her words” and called for her remarks to be removed from her record.

“If! If Democrats shot McCarthy every time he lost a Republican, we would all be unconscious by now,” said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. murmured afterwards.

However, the entire drama required a drink. So after Congress closed, Ocasio-Cortez found her DC rum distillery Cotton & Reed in the Union Market neighborhood.

“Rep. Kamak had already accused us all of being lush, so I decided to visit the local distillery @cottonandreed with my loved one for dinner,” she wrote on her Instagram story. I posted it with a photo of the rum barrel.

Meanwhile, McCarthy-themed bar specials around town continue the long tradition of DC’s saucy political cocktails.
